In Los Angeles, on September 5, 1970, having hammered out a suitable set of since discarded by-laws, an intrepid group of 11 men founded the Pacific Coast Motorcycle Club. The highlight of our first year was made possible by the discovery of the Black Mountain Campground by a scouting party of members headed by the infamous (and still fearless) Ray Lusink. The club ascended en masse to the campground in July of 1971 - our first “Black Mountain Run”. 

Over the past 27 years the men of P.C.M.C. have hosted as many as 150 men at our annual run, including world famous celebrities. Well, at least one. That we remember.

In the past 2 years, under the guidance of President Dale Jackson, the club has been christened as a “Men’s Club,” acknowledging our strongest traits (in spite of the lack of motorcycles) and highlighting our spirit, MEN who enjoy each others’ company in a fraternal spirit, in a positive and easy-going way. Our new Club Uniform serves not only to unite us, but also to celebrate the ties that unify our cherished active founding fathers, Ray and Bill, with our 3 newest members this year, namely Tony, Ira and Steve.

The run has evolved into a somewhat more laid back event, with incredible food, a 24 hour bar, and very friendly men in a familiar private and beautiful setting, where primal urges are fulfilled, right out in the woods. “Cocktail Rocks,” the culmination of our years’ efforts, caps off Saturday night during the run. If you have never joined in our run, this evening and night alone is worth the price of admission (not to mention the food and desserts).

This year the run will occur August 6, Thursday, through Sunday, August 9, 1998. Please remember to bring your tent, your hiking boots, and your solar shower bag (easily obtained from the nearest Big 5 Sporting Goods). Leave your poodles, drugs, and hangups at home; come prepared to relax.
