One of Los Angeles' foremost gay men's social organizations, the Pacific Coast Motor Club was founded in 1970 in response to the need for an alternative outlet for gay men to socialize comfortably, and continues to this day in that pursuit. The name was soon changed to Pacific Coast Motorcycle Club, but long ago the club's horizons widened beyond motorcycling; the original requirement for bikes was dropped, and as our members have always had a broad diversity of interests, in the '90s the name was changed again, to Pacific Coast Men's Club, and in 2012, back to its original name. We've also long been known simply as Pacific Coast or PC for short. PCMC retains a modest version of the original uniform out of tradition, but at this time the club has no singular specialization with motorcycles, leather, uniforms, bears, nudists, cowboys, fairies, theatrics, or other exclusive focus... we maintain long-lasting fraternal connections to our community, and our far-flung friends enjoy a special community camaraderie together. All kinds of guys - singles and couples - attend our events. Some become members, some are also involved with other groups, many visit year after year. With guidance from some of our original founding men, we continue to carry the flag, and we graciously welcome fellows who wish to participate in Friendship, Fun and Contribution to our Community.

Today there are numerous gay groups of every possible kind, but PCMC's Main Objectives, defined long ago, remain simply:  1) one or more annual Outings in this lovely Southern California Wilderness of ours, with the Delight of rustic Camping, the Pleasure of Fine Food and Entertainment, the Enjoyment of Quality Libation and most of all, the beautiful Company of Good Men!  2) monthly Dinner Meetings to discuss club business, plan events and enjoy each others' company.  3) making Contributions to club-approved Charities from funds derived from Beer Busts and other Events. Also quite important to us is maintaining rapport and interaction with other related Social Organizations throughout the continent.
